I’m Andreas Kirchebner, an Information Security expert with a long-standing focus on SAP systems. What drives me is simple: I want to understand how things work, why they break, and how to fix the root cause instead of chasing symptoms. Over the years, that mindset has shaped how I look at security and not as a purely technical discipline, but as the point where people, processes, and systems meet.
I started out in SAP Basis and spent more than a decade on the client side, gradually taking on security topics that kept pulling me in. Roles and authorizations, Solution Manager, technical monitoring, each step made the picture clearer and eventually led me into the role of SAP Security Responsible within the information security team. That was the moment SAP Security stopped being “just another topic” and became something I genuinely cared about.
In 2019, I took that passion into the community as spokesperson for the Cloud Security working group at DSAG – German speaking user group. Supporting the community, raising awareness, and contributing to the SAP Security Best Practice Guide gave me a broader perspective on how much guidance and clarity this field actually needs.
Today, I work as a Senior Security Delivery Manager at Accenture, supporting organizations across several countries. My focus is practical SAP Security: strategy, governance, enablement, and system-level security. I also serve as the global topic lead for SAP Security Strategy, Governance, Enablement, and SAP System Security. A role where I bring structure, consistency, and reusable approaches into our services and assets.
With AK Security Insights, I’m building a place to share exactly that: clear, practical, no‑nonsense SAP Security guidance. My goal is to create awareness, cut through buzzwords, and make SAP Security more accessible for everyone, whether through publications, talks, or hands-on analysis.
Outside the technical details, I value straightforward communication and a clean, structured approach to problem‑solving. Security doesn’t have to be complicated, it just has to be understood.
